Long time, no update!

Along with the
new stuff
we got in since the last update (and there was some really

good stuff too
!) we actually restocked a bunch of things that had been
unavailable for quite sometime - what you say?

Guinea Pig - 4 Disc Boxset (NTSC All Region)
- Unearthed finally got
some more, but they aren't sure what is going to happen to it once these are
gone.

Malena DVD (International Version) (NTSC All Region)
- Import
International version that also happens to be NTSC All Region

Battle Royale Pt 1 & 2 Boxset DVD (NTSC All Region)
  - Korean
import containing pts 1 and 2 along with a third disc of extras - plus this is
the only legit version we are aware of that is NTSC All Region

 Pan's
Labyrinth DVD (Ofelia`s Book Digipack Case) (NTSC Region 3)
- The
great film in the amazing "book" packaging. We thought they were gone for good,
but we got in a few more that we had on hold!

PLUS PLUS PLUS - We have 3 great boxsets in stock at a special price for a
limited time

Spaced - Definitive Edition DVD (PAL Region 2)
- All of the folks
behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz made this amazing British TV series before
jumping to the big screen.  Normally $55, but on sale for $40 while
supplies last

Shoah DVD (4 DVD Set) (PAL Region 2)
- You would think that a 10
hour documentary comprised entirely of interviews about the Holocaust , but you
would be wrong. Pick up this great film on import DVD for a fraction of the US
one.

Werner Herzog - Klaus Kinski Boxset (6 DVD Anchor Bay UK) (PAL Region 2)

- We were able to get some of these Anchor Bay UK boxsets at a special price and
likely won't be able to get more at the same price. Every film in the box is a
winner (Fitzcaraldo, Nosferatu, Aguire and more) and is much cheaper than the US
version.  If you are new to the collaborations between these two, this is a
must have for any film fan and at the price, it is a bargain of great great
cinema!!

Oh and don't miss these new releases - for real!

Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus DVD (PAL Region 2)

La Jetee and Sans Soleil DVD (Criterion) (NTSC Region 1)

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon DVD (NTSC Region 1)

Criterion Collection and the latest for the director of OLDBOY

Normally we don't focus on just one label, but this past week Criterion has released 3 great, desirable arthouse films on DVD that we recommend the most!

Sweet Movie DVD (Criterion) (NTSC Region 1)
There is no film in the world quite like Dusan Makavejev`s revolutionary, offensive and gleefully joyous SWEET MOVIE that ranks with the works of Arrabal, Jodorowsky and early Matsumoto in the realm of international cinematic weirdness
Price: $24.99

if.... (Criterion) (NTSC Region 1)
Lindsay Anderson’s If. . . . is a daringly anarchic vision of British society, set in a boarding school in late-sixties England. Before Kubrick made his mischief iconic in A Clockwork Orange, Malcolm McDowell made a hell of an impression as the insouciant Mick Travis, who, along with his school chums, trumps authority at every turn, finally emerging as violent savior against the draconian games of one-upmanship played by both students and the powers that be. Mixing color and black and white as audaciously as it mixes fantasy and reality, If. . . . remains one of cinema’s most unforgettable rebel yells

WR: Mysteries of the Organism DVD (Criterion) (NTSC Region 1)
What does the energy harnessed through orgasm have to do with the state of communist Yugoslavia circa 1971? Only counterculture filmmaker extraordinaire DuĊĦan Makavejev has the answers (or the questions). His surreal documentary-fiction collision WR: Mysteries of the Organism begins as an investigation into the life and work of controversial psychologist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich and then explodes into a free-form narrative of a beautiful young Slavic girl’s sexual liberation. Banned upon its release in the director’s homeland, the art-house smash WR is both whimsical and bold in its blending of politics and sexuality.

Don't forget Ace in the Hole DVD (Criterion - Billy Wilder) (NTSC Region 1) from Criterion next month!

For fans of Oldboy director Park Chan-wook - we have his new comedy (what!!!) I'm A Cyborg, But That's OK DVD (Park Chan-wook) (NTSC Region 1)

Glamorous Life of Zatoichi

We have a couple of exploitation classics in stock this week and a few from Japan that you probably need to check out.
First up we have Anita DVD starring Christina Lindberg from Thriller - A Cruel Picture fame and Laure DVD based on the memoir from the “real life” Emanuelle of the Emanuelle series (Wonder if she knew Pedro!)

Proof that Japan always has something great to offer is only as far as looking out the whacked out “pink film” Glamorous Life of Sachiko Hanai DVD (Hanai Sachiko no Karei na Shogai) or the action packed 4 disc! Zatoichi boxset released this week from Image containing 4 films from the Shintaro Katsu era of Zatoichi.

Have you not ordered if.... and Sweet Movie DVD yet? Come on! Two great subversive arthouse films both being release by Criterion in July. YEAH!!!!

Finally, we thought we were sold out of the great book Slimetime (BOOK) and our distributor has long had this listed as out of print (OOP) but we just came across a bunch hidden behind some big FAB books, so we have put them back up at regular price.

BTW, if you have downloaded HOSTEL 2 off of the internet, you should be aware that it is a different cut than the theatrical version and has been shunned by the director. Now, we are no big fans of Eli Roth here, but the fact is that the guy brings gusto to his love of horror movies and he got a studio to release a horror film in June – which never happens since it is a wasteland of Hollywood big budget slop - so do Eli a favor and check out Hostel 2 in theatres and see the cut he has intended you to see. And to the unprofessional “critic” who reviewed the bootleg on his blog, maybe you should get your facts straight before you take someone to task for something they didn’t even intend for you to see.

David Lynch's latest 3hr mind-melt INLAND EMPIRE is now available for preorder. Although it won't be available until August, we are now taking preorders at $19.99 - $10 off of the list price.

We are huge Lynch fans here and suggest you check this one yet. Aside from
